Starter FOB, squad HUD, better shooting
Fixes from the last playtest: more time to dig in, you can see your squad, and bullets go where they should.
New
- Starter FOB: every match starts with a HESCO compound around the Command Post. It has a gate facing each approach, sandbags at the gates, wire on the north road and the Support Radio already built. It's all yours to repair, stack on and extend.
- More time and resources to start: the first build phase is now 2 minutes, with 250 Construction and 150 Supply.
- Squad panel above your vitals: every teammate's health, armor, DOWN / REVIVING %, and how far away they are.
- Nameplates: aim at a teammate to see their name and health bar over their head.
- Players to Start (Host Game → Match Rules): the match waits until that many players have joined. The host can press F9 to start anyway.
- Scope Style (Settings → Gameplay): Picture-in-Picture or Full Screen. Full Screen zooms the whole view and blacks out everything outside the scope. Zoomed sights now turn slower to match the zoom.
Changed
- The whole squad down in a wave = defeat. If everyone is dead at once, there's no one left to revive anybody, so the match ends after 3 seconds.
Fixed
- Your chosen player name now shows in game instead of your PC's name.
- Bullets go through gaps you can see through: power poles, the guard tower, the radar truck, rocks, sandbag walls. They also pass through tree leaves. Enemies and turrets follow the same rules.
Performance
- Big rendering savings for the host: lighting, shadows, terrain, sky and clouds were reworked, and enemies don't animate off screen.
- On first start the game picks a graphics quality for your PC (only if you never changed it).
